King Solomon’s Masonic Lodge is established.

September 30, 1783

(Sept.) It meets initially in the Warren Tavern at 2 Pleasant Street. The first Masonic Lodge in Charlestown, it is consecrated on January 7, 1784. Subsequent lodges in Charlestown include the Henry Price Lodge (est. 1858) and the Faith Lodge (1868). All three begin meeting in the new Charlestown Five Cents Savings Bank building in 1876.* King Solomon’s Lodge moves to Somerville in 1899.
